Voting Machine Demo
Nevada has purchased all new voting machines. As we are quickly approaching the primary elections, we want our members to test out the new accessible voting machines. Thursday, May 24th from 11:00am - 12:00PM at the Election Department, Freedom Room located at 965 Trade Dr. North Las Vegas, NV 89030.
BELL Academy 2018
Do you know a blind/VI student between the ages of 4-12 who is not receiving enough Braille instruction during the school year? The National Federation of the Blind of Nevada is partnering up with the Nevada Blind Children Foundation to bring a week of fun Braille instruction that sounds like the ringing of BELLs. Now Accepting Applications for the 2018 National Federation of the Blind of Nevada UNITY SCHOLARSHIP
The National Federation of the Blind of Nevada has broadened its commitment to blind college students and would like to recognize their achievements by awarding three students merit-based scholarships ranging from $500 to $1,500. All scholarships awarded are based on academic excellence, community service, and leadership. Are you a new member of the National Federation of the Blind of Nevada interested in attending your first NFB of Nevada State Convention? Have you been involved with the National Federation of the Blind of Nevada for some time, but haven’t had the opportunity to attend a state convention due to financial restraints? Are you a parent of a blind child in Nevada seeking support in advocacy and positive blind role models for yourself and your child? We have great news for you!
The National Federation of the Blind of Nevada will be supporting five first timers in attending our 2018 State Convention, which is to be held October 5 - 6 at the Nugget in Reno. Through our Silver State Federation Family First Time Convention Scholarship, we will provide five qualified applicants stipends in the amount of $250.00 each. 2018 National Federation of the Blind of Nevada State Convention
Save the date for Friday, October 5th and Saturday, October 6th for our 2018 State Convention to be held at the Nugget Casino Resort in Sparks. Room rates are $119 for singles and doubles, and $129 for triples and quads. Room reservations are now open until September 5th.
