The National Federation of the Blind believes in investing in the future by supporting the college education of deserving legally blind students. Our state and national scholarship programs are the most generous in the country. We urge you to apply to both.
The National Federation of the Blind offers thirty scholarships annually to blind students from across the United States. Any legally blind, full-time college or graduate student may apply, as well as graduating high school seniors who will be attending college full-time in the fall of 2019. Check out www.nfb.org/scholarships for eligibility information and to apply! All finalists must attend the entire convention of the National Federation of the Blind, to be held July 7-12 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The NFB scholarship program is our investment in the future of blind people who demonstrate scholastic aptitude, leadership, and service. All blind college and high school students are encouraged to apply!
July 7-12, 2019
Each year the National Federation of the Blind holds its national convention. More than 3,000 delegates participate from across the United States as well as many foreign countries. For more information, please visit www.nfb.org/convention.

Blindconnect Angela’s House & National Federation of the Blind of Nevada believe that with the right training blind persons can live the life that they want. This is why we are proud to offer a workshop specially designed to answer many critical questions and provide information about being a blind parent. If you are expecting a baby or have a child from infancy to elementary age and you are a blind parent, this workshop may be for you.
Please join us on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 from 2 PM to 6 PM at the Mobility Training Center Angela’s House
This is a pilot class, donations are appreciated so that classes like these and more can be offered in the future. Children are welcome, child care provided.

On March 13th, members of the National Federation of the Blind of Nevada will arrive in Carson City to meet with our elected legislators to gain support for the creation of a Blind Parents Protection Law. With Federationists from the Northern and Southern Chapters and at large members participating we will meet directly with our Lawmakers and make sure they understand that Blindness is not a reason to question the ability of a parent to provide a safe, loving and successful home for their children. For more information on the NFB Day at the Nevada Legislature, please contact Dora Uchel at email@example.com.
